On Meet the Press, Sun. Oct. 19th, Powell's endorsement of Obama was weak and self-serving at best. He repeatedly said that he had observed Obama over the last two years; if two years meets his standard of determining the next President, then it's certainly in line with losing his credibility, which he did when he was used by the Bush administration to make the point at the UN to go to war in Iraq. He was angry at being used back in 2003 and now it's transparent that this is payback time. When Tom Brokow, not recently known to be bi-partisin, pressed him on Obama's associations, Powell off handedly dismissed them. Then the question came concering Obama's US citizenship, and Powell again said, it's of no consequence since we really need to move beyond whether he's a Muslim or not. Really. The last time anyone looked at the Constitution it still is a prerequistie to be the President, but perhaps Powell is just looking to have a position in the cabinet and exonerate himself.
